Something That Irritates Me...

I know we're all Survivor fans (otherwise why the hell do we play these games? lol).

I'm just wondering why the hell women don't win more often. This has been bugging me for awhile.

Men: Richard, Ethan, Brian, Chris, Tom, Aras, Yul, Earl, Todd, Bob, JT
Women: Tina, Vecepia, Jenna, Sandra, Amber, Danni, Parvati

Amber and Parvati only won their second time around.

Why is it that women can't seem to win this thing? Is it because lately they've been hiring actresses and wannabe actresses to be on the show, and they care more about being famous than winning?

So far this season's looking like another male winner...out of the five people gone, three are women.

What are your thoughts?

i agreed!i think, back in gabon; sugar should've win instead of bob!
its just that the power is on that jury's hand. if they're bunch of bitter jurors like in gabon, there's nothing they can do about it.

It's kinda like when a male backstabs, lies, and manipulates, he's seen as a master strategist. When a female does that, she's just a bitch. Stupid double-standard

i feel like most of it has to do with the fact that early on women tend to leave. Look at gabon liek the first 4 people out were girls. Then by merge girls are always down. It sucks i know. The only time girls seem to win is when they team up together this is the same with bb. In there a girl has never beaten a guy.

I agree women should win more often but Mike is right. People seem to want to give the million dollars to a guy over a girl. But oh well I am still hoping a girl wins this season. And girls seem to win All Stars so hopefully next season one will

Girls are normally voted out pre-merge heaps because they're seen as not helpful in challenges, that's the only part of this game that is sexist. Everything else like people choosing to vote for a guy over a girl in the final 2 is not true.


If you all cast your minds back to Survivor All Stars in that extra show where Rupert won another million dollars, Jeff was like "in terms of winning this game, women outnumber men 5-3" and I remember this discussion on why men aren't winning.


The reason Sugar didn't win was because she alienated half the jury and those people didn't like her and couldn't let their brains outweigh their emotions at the time i.e. Corinne, Charlie, Marcus. It's not because Sugar was a girl and Bob was a guy.



Again look back at All Stars, pretty much the EXACT same thing happened. Boston Rob was the annoying, Boston Rob did all the backstabbing, Amber was just along for the ride. People like Lex, Alicia and Tom and whoever couldn't get it through their thick skulls to vote with their heads, not with their hearts. And again, I assure you it wasn't because Boston Rob was a guy and Amber was a girl.

Um, if they stopped hiring models, and they started hiring normal women, more women would win.

Something I always found interesting is despite the higher amount of Male winners, in only two seasons of the show (Thailand & Tocantins) has there been a M/M Final Two.

There's actually been more F/F Final Twos too.

But usually it seems that if there's ever a M/F final two, the jury either hates the woman so much (i.e Sugar, Amanda, Cassandra) or the girl in the Final 2/3 is seen as having ridden the guy's coattails (i.e Becky, Danielle, Katie)

I'm rooting for a girl to win too since I'd like to see more female winners. (Its why I was rooting for Taj and Erinn last season. )

I think it might have something to do with the numbers in each season. Early on when they had 16 in a season girls won more then guys but now that they have 18 - 20 more guys win.

This might be because girls MIGHT be smarter and can predict the game further ahead when there are less twists (with 16 people).

But in a game with 18 - 20 people there are usually more twists (tribe swaps, late merges, exile, more eliminations before merge ect.) Males win far more often maybe this has something to do with men maybe being able to adapt to a changing situation better.

Also the seasons Parv and Amber won(20 and 18 contestant respectively) they both used then sexuality and flirting to get further ahead in the game.

Also more men win in final 3's.

I actually like final 2's more then final 3's. What do you guys think?

I like final twos over final threes because usually if there's a final three, one of them was dragged along by the other two, and it splits the votes. If it was Todd and Courtney as a final two in China, things might've been different, but in the end you never know, but I prefer a final two.

BTW: I wonder what would've happened if Amanda and Parvati tied in FvF...?

I wonder that as well. It was odd they had an even jury of 8 that season. Its better to have a jury of 7 or 9 since it makes it hard for a tie unless there's a Final 3, in which case a 3-3-1 or 4-4-1 vote can happen.

IDK about a final 2 tie.

But maybe a revote on the reunion show for a final 3 tie?
